<br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />AGREEMENT WITH PENINSULA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY <br />TO CONSTRUCT REPLACEMENT HOUSING AND <br />RELATED CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />This Agreement is made and entered into this 12 th day of ~, May, <br />2000, by and between the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation ("City"), <br />and Peninsula Habitat for Humanity, Inc., a California non profit corporation <br />("Habitat") and the Redwood City Redevelopment Agency ("RDA"). <br /> <br />T~is Agreement is made in consideration for the Purchase Agreement, <br />dated ~r E , 2000 and in further consideration for the "Agreement with <br />Peninsula Habitat for Humanity in Connection with Land Acquisition through <br />CDBG and HOME Funds (3426, 3436, 3446, 3456, 3466, 3476-3480, and 3486 <br />Rolison Road and 1181 Haven Avenue)," which agreement is dated~fDJtit May <br />12 , 2000. <br /> <br />This Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions for physical <br />improvements, beneficiaries, and conditions of ownership thereof that Habitat is <br />required to build on the property being transferred hereunder. <br /> <br />1. Construction of 36 Units of Affordable Housing <br /> <br />Habitat shall provide sufficient funding and labor to complete the construction of <br />thirty-six ownership units on the property located at 3426, 3436, 3446, 3456, <br />3466, 3476-3480, 3486 Rolison Road and 1181 Haven Avenue. (the "Property") <br />as shown on Attachment 1 to this Agreement. Habitat shall sell each of said <br />units to an eligible and qualified "Beneficiary" at a purchase price not to exceed <br />$195,000. Habitat will begin construction on the portion of the Property which is <br />shown on Attachment 1 and shall make every effort to substantially complete 7 <br />of the 36 units by July 14, 2000 pursuant to the City's obligations under Section <br />104(d) of the Housing and Community Development Act, as amended. Two of <br />the 36 units shall meet the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards for wheel <br />chair users and one of the 36 units shall meet the Uniform Federal Accessibility <br />Standards for hearing or seeing impaired. <br /> <br />2. Construction of Off-Site Improvements <br /> <br />Offsite improvements, as specified below, shall be completed by Habitat.
