'. <br />To theHonorable~~::lcj~~~~~ <br /> <br />December 15.2008 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Award of Contract - Hoover Park Prefabricated Restroom Building Replacement Project <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve. by motion, the contract documents and award the contract for the Hoover Park <br />Prefabricated Restroom Building Replacement Project to the lowest responsible bidder, <br />McNabb Construction. Inc. of Lafayette, for their responsive and responsible low base <br />bid of $149,700.00 and authorize the City Manager to increase the contract amount up <br />to 10% of the amount awarded if necessary. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The renovation of certain park facilities and the replacement of the existing restrooms <br />are proposed for Hoover Park. Staff requests Council consideration of the contract for <br />the renovation portion of the work via a separate companion report. <br /> <br />The existing restroom facility at Hoover Park was installed 30 years ago. It is at the end <br />of its useful life and requires replacing. Staff attributes this variance to increased labor <br />and materials costs over three years when staff last bid a similar project. Staff believes <br />that the low bid of $149,700.00 is reasonable and recommends awarding the contract to <br />McNabb Construction, Inc. <br />
