Grace Le, Redwood City
Redwood Shores Levee Proposal
October 7, 2008
Page 4

IIII~~

consider future settlement, or other levee closure related issues Also, we have not
included an environmental consultant or biologists on our team, because we believe it is
premature to do so without knowing what the construction will involve.

Task 1 Deliverables:
. Existing Conditions Summary based on Visual Observations
. Topographic Survey
. Preliminary Engineering Analysis Report

TASK 2: GEOTECHNICAL CONDITIONS SUMMARY

2.1 Investigate Geotechnical Con ditions

Data Review
This task involves a review of geotechnical reports to assess, at a "due-diligence" level, the
underlying soil conditions, ongoing settlement, and stability of levees. Data such as number,
location and depths of borings and cone penetrometer tests (CPTs), etc will be recorded.
ENGEO will meet with the City Engineer and Maintenance Department to discuss past levee
performance and future planned maintenance operations for the levee.

Preliminarv Analvses
ENGEO will review the existing subsurface data including boring logs and strength data, and
perform general seepage, settlement, and stability calculations based on two or three typical
sections.

Summarize Geotechnical Conditions
ENGEO will prepare a Technical Memorandum summarizing their work, which will be
appended to the Preliminary Engineering Analysis Report.

Task 2 Deliverables:
. Technical Memorandum Summarizing Geotechnical Conditions

FEE & SCHEDULE

An estimate of hours by task, and our standard Rate Schedule, is attached. We will invoice
monthly based on Time and Materials, up to the limit shown in the attached fee.

We understand that the City is anxious to obtain the Preliminary Engineering Assessment
(Task 1 deliverables) and believe that w e can provide the report within 4 weeks of receiving a
signed contract and notice to proceed.

The Task 2 deliverables will be provided 4 weeks after the Task 1 deliverable.

M:\2007 Proposa/sl07401 Redwood CityLevee CertIGLe-10-07-08.doc
