<br />. , <br /> <br />They shall not be used as bearing walls, but the floor lo.ad shall be <br />oarried on steel or cast iron columns built into the walls. <br />Curtin walls supported at every floor line B.nd at roof by a frame of steel <br />or reinforoed concrete girders and .o~umns and oonstructed as required <br />for Class "A"or Clas5 "8" buildings, will be permitted in C1ass"C" <br />buildings; provided said fraffie is tied togetherlin both horizontal dir- <br />ections at every floor and .roof line with steel or reinforoed soncrete <br />ties, stru.ts or girders spaced not to exceed twenty feet apart and of <br />spans not exoeeding twenty five feet between eolumns and walls or between <br />columns. <br />Interior Columns shall be of steel or reinforced concrete. Steel .olu~ms, <br />girders, ties and struts shall be fire proofed as provided for Class "A" <br />buildings. <br />Reinforoed ooncretetiesor struts shall be not less than ten inohes <br />wide and thedBpth shall be not les8 than that of the floor joist. The <br />area of steel reinforlement in ties or struts shall be not 1es8 than <br />one rer oentum of the area of the concrete, in crOSB section, and the <br />reinforoement sha.ll be rigidly oonnected to the wall oolumn or girder <br />reinforoement. <br /> <br />Court Walls <br />SECTION 33. The walls of all outer and lot line courts and shafts shall <br />have walls constructed in the saffie manner as required for exterior walls. <br />Walls of interior oourts and shafts may be construoted of timber studding <br />covered on the exterior with fire proof material. Courts and shafts <br />adjoining exterior walls are regared as interior provided the exterior <br />wall adjoining same shall be unbroken by openings, or if broken by open- <br />ings, said openings shall be olosed by one fourth inah wire glass set <br />in metal sashes and metal fr~mes. <br />Fireproofing <br />SECTION 34. All girders and oolumns supporting masonry, except columns <br />at street line, shall be fireproo'ed. <br />16 <br /> <br />\1 <br />
