<br />All foundations are to be of brick or concrete and shall be either solid <br />walls or piers~ and shall extend at least four (4) inches above the ground <br />line. <br />The concrete or brick piers shall be at least eight (8) on top and <br />seventeen (17) inches on footings and shall extend to clay~ and shall <br />be spaced six (6) feet on centers. <br /> <br />The top of any foundation '(jaIl shall not be less than <br /> <br />inche s on top <br /> <br />and seventeen (17) inohes on footings and said wall shall extend at least <br />12 inches below the surface of the ground. <br />No wooden or plank foundations shall be allowed on residences or dwellings. <br />SECTION 44i. The foundations of any building built along the banks of <br />Redwood Creek or its brancbes where the ground is soft may be built upon <br />piles of such size and character and placed as ordered by the :Soard of <br />Trustees of the Town of ReQ~ood City~ and no building shall be construct- <br />ed on piles without the owner thereof first secures permission from the <br />said Board of Trustees. <br />SECTION 45. For a 'building of two stories or less in height except fact- <br />ories~ mills or warehouses~ the studdin8 for the outside walls and bearing <br />partitions shall not be less than t00 (2) by four(4) inches; for a building <br />of three stories in height~ the studding shall not be less than 3 by 4 <br />inches~ to the bottom of the upper floor joist, and 2 by 4 inches for the <br />remaining height. <br />Y1here the bearing partitions ar less than 12 feet apart~ the studding <br />may be less than the outside walls, but never less than 2 by 4 inches~ <br />except in one story dwellings when all studding of interior walls may be <br />2 by .3 inches.
