<br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />SWC:fm 6/10/81 <br />OR!GINAL <br /> <br />JUN 1 1981 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. <br />------ --- <br /> <br />8868 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY OF ALEX PYLELO <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council was saddened to learn of the passing <br /> <br />of Alex Pylelo on May 8, 1981; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Fire Fighter Pylelo was a highly trained professional <br /> <br />Fire Fighter who during his more than 28 years of service to the <br /> <br />City daily displayed his dedication to the Fire service and the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City by his many activities within the Department <br /> <br />and throughout the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during the latter part of his career Fire Fighter <br /> <br />Pylelo was the liaison between the Port of Redwood City and the <br /> <br />Redwood City Fire Department; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Fire FighterPylelo was instrumental in obtaining <br /> <br />Redwood City's first Fire Boat and was part of the crew that <br /> <br />sailed the boat up the coast from Southern California to the <br /> <br />Port of Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Fire Fighter Pylelo, in addition to his many <br /> <br />regular duties, was responsible for the operation and maintenance <br /> <br />of the Fire Boat as well as the training of Fire Department <br /> <br />personnel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Fire Fighter Pylelo was an individual who was <br /> <br />devoted to his chosen profession and to serving his fellow citizens, <br /> <br />but most of all, Alex was a good friend that the Department and the <br /> <br />community could count on. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This council does hereby convey its condolences and deepest <br /> <br />sympathy to the family Alex Pylelo on behalf of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City and its citizens. <br /> <br />The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to transmit <br /> <br />a copy of this resolution to the wife and two children of Alex Pylelo. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />8868 <br />
