<br />Council actions: <br />M/S Howard Bain to adopt resolution No. 14881. Motion carried by unanimous roll call <br />vote. <br /> <br />M/S Hartnett/Ira to adopt resolution No. 14882. Motion carried by unanimous roll call <br />vote. <br /> <br />M/S Howardllra to adopt resolution No. 14883. Motion carried by unanimous roll call <br />vote. <br /> <br />M/S Piercellra to direct the City Clerk to enter into a services agreement with the County <br />of San Mateo Elections Office. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br />M/S Ira/Howard directing the City Clerk to provide all election notices and file the <br />appropriate resolutions with the County of San Mateo Elections Office. Motion carried by <br />unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust thanked the Council, the public and staff for their commitment to these <br />important issues. <br /> <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed legislation described in the league of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 29-2008. Council may direct staff to act on positions <br />taken by Council. (Copies of league of California Cities Priority Focus available in <br />City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br />M/S Pierce/Howard to extend the meeting until 11: 1 0 p.m. Motion carried by <br />unanimous voice vote. <br /> <br />B. Ongoing Matters <br /> <br />1. San Mateo County Jail Site. Council's packets included the letter sent by the <br />Mayor to the President of the Board of Supervisors on the City's position on no <br />new jails, and a meeting is still in the process of being set up in this regard. <br /> <br />Council Member Pierce announced, Friday, August 8th, there would be art the Court <br />House Square bands, concerts, a big screen carrying the opening of the Olympic games <br />and a Chinese Market. <br /> <br />Mayor Foust shared a crystal sculpture sent by the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office <br />commemorating the equestrian events that took place in our Chinese sister city. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Howard stated that on September 2ih, the City staff has planned a morning <br />event inside the San Mateo History Museum for an opportunity to talk about the General <br />Plan.
