MINUTE ORDER <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br /> May 18, 1998 <br /> MO. 98-133 <br /> <br />CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT <br />Redwood City <br /> <br />DATE: May 20, 1998 <br /> <br />Attention: City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> Council <br /> Community Development Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Bair Island Task Force report presented by Vice Mayor Ruskin (205) <br />Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on May 18, 1998. <br /> <br />Present: Councilmembers Bain, Claire, Harmett, Ira, Leipzig, Ruskin <br /> and Mayor Howard <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes: <br /> <br /> "1. We recommend that the City Council support the continued access to and <br /> the protection of the SBSA Force Main. Nothing in our deliberations, <br /> nothing in our considerations, negated the overarching importance of <br /> supporting the protection to and access to the SBSA Sewage Force Main; <br /> <br /> "2. The Task Force remain in effect, and that a representative from Belmont be <br /> appointed; <br /> <br /> "3. We recommend that the Task Force be utilized to work with and provide <br /> input to the Fish and Wildlife Service on the use and public access to Bair <br /> Island. We recommend that we become an adjunct to the Fish and Wildlife <br /> Service, that we aid them in understanding what the public wants and needs <br /> in terms of public access to Bair Island. We recommend that the Task <br /> Force dispatch a letter to Fish and Wildlife stating that we want to be of aid <br /> to them, giving them input as to the recreational access that the folks in our <br /> community would like and need to have and we are ready to help them gain <br /> that knowledge. <br /> <br /> <br />
