<br />conducted numerous outreach efforts to sUNey the public and evaluate the need for a <br /> <br />ban on smoking in City's parks; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these outreach efforts showed that 860/0 of those surveyed favor a <br /> <br />ban on smoking in parks, citing public health issues and the frequenting of parks by <br /> <br />children who are susceptible to the health effects of breathing secondhand smoke; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the PRCS Commission of the City of Redwood City recommends <br /> <br />that the City Council adopt an ordinance prohibiting smoking in all City parks. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Chapter 25, Article I. Section 25.2.02 (L) of the Redwood City <br /> <br />Municipal Code is amended in its entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br />25.2.02. No person shall engage in the following prohibited acts and/or <br /> <br />uses in a City park or facility: <br /> <br />"L.
