<br />6.1E <br />Page 24 <br /> <br />discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race; color, <br />religion, sex or national origin. Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that <br />applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without <br />regard to their race, COIOf, religion, sex or national origin. Such action will include, but <br />not be limited to, the following: employment, upgrading, demotion, or transfer, <br />recruitment or recruitment adve.rtising; layoff or termination; rates of payor other forms <br />of compensation; and selection for trainingt including apprenticeship. <br />15. SECTION 3 OF THE HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACT OF <br /> <br />1986. Contractor hereby agrees that it will comply with the provisions of Section 3, the <br />regulations set forth in 24 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) part 135, as that section <br />may be amended from time to time, and all applicable rules and orders of the U.S. <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development; and that it will, to the greatest extent <br />feasible, make available opportunities for training and employment under this contract <br />to lower income residents of Redwood City. <br />16. NONDISCRIMINATION BASED ON DISABILITY. Contractor hereby agrees <br />that .it .will comply with .the .provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of. .1973, as <br />amended, and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) providing equal access and <br />reasonable accommodations in employment programs and services to persons who are <br />disabled. <br />17. INTEREST OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS. No members, officers, or" employees <br />or agents of the City of Redwood City, no member of the City Council and no other <br />public official who exercises any function or responsibility with respect to this <br />Agreement or Contractor's Program during his or her tenure, or for one year thereafter, <br />will have any interest, direct or indirect, in this Agreement or a related subcontract, or <br />the proceeds thereof.
