Vice Mayor Howard appreciated the recommendations of going beyond the normal CEQA <br /> (California Environmental Quality Act) requirements and doing the analyses regarding <br /> potential fiscal and economic impacts, as well as studies on housing and childcare needs <br /> and also an analysis of needed open spaces and parks in the neighborhood. She also <br /> appreciated the proposed projecUreduced alternative parallel to the General Plan process. <br /> She spoke to the storm drain issues and flood control impacts and also had concerns <br /> about the traffic impacts on the north and south sides of the project. She invited the <br /> Stanford team to come to the General Plan Strategic Planning session on September 27 th . <br /> The Vice Mayor also asked if they were looking at an 18-month process, and Ms. Riordan <br /> stated it would be a year to 18 months. The Mayor concurred with the initiation of the <br /> process and spoke to the greatness of Redwood City, its history, Stanford's history, <br /> community values, and what Stanford can bring to the community. She opined the <br /> positives and the challenges have been well articulated in the process thus far. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> 1. By motion adopt a Resolution of Intention of the City Council of the City of <br /> Redwood City initiating an amendment to the Strategic General Plan of the City <br /> of Redwood City requesting that the City staff review and recommend an <br /> appropriate General Plan Land Use Designation for the Stanford University in <br /> Redwood City campus and Stanford University Precise Plan. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 14887 OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE STRATEGIC GENERAL PLAN <br /> OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY REQUESTING THAT CITY STAFF REVIEW AND <br /> RECOMMEND AN APPROPRIATE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FOR <br /> THE STANFORD UNIVERSITY IN REDWOOD CITY CAMPUS AND STANFORD <br /> UNIVERSITY PRECISE PLAN <br /> M/S Aguirre/Pierce adopt the resolution as submitted. Motion carried by a unanimous <br /> roll call vote. <br /> 2.
