C. Ongoing Matters: <br /> 1. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) — Redwood Shores Levees. <br /> 2. San Mateo County Jail Site - The Mayor spoke about a letter that was sent out, <br /> the answer received, and the meeting still in the process of being set up for the <br /> governing bodies involved. <br /> D. Council Reports on Committee Meetings Attended. <br /> 1. Council Member Aguirre announced the 7�" annual North Fair Oaks <br /> Community Festival event, on August 24 between 11 am-6pm. <br /> 2. Council Member Hartnett passed due to the late hour. <br /> 3. Council Member Pierce passed due to the late hour. <br /> Mayor Foust spoke to what would be coming back on August 25 with regard to the <br /> counter-measure and a resolution opposing the Save the Bay measure. There was a <br /> suggestion to bring back a resolution regarding the Council proposed amendment to the <br /> Charter. There was concurrence to bring back the second resolution opposing the Save <br /> the Bay charter vote amendment and address the other resolution later. Discussion was <br /> deferred on this last matter due to the late hour. <br /> Council asked the City Manager to work with Parks & Recreation regarding a recent <br /> incident report where people start marking tables with clothes and putting chairs up many <br /> hours prior to plaza events. Council asked that staff monitor the situation. Council stated it <br /> has been great having people directing traffic at Stafford Park. <br /> The Vice Mayor stated that the past Friday's events were very enjoyable with a band, and <br /> a great singing group. She spoke to the success of the inflatable movie screen and the <br /> viewing of the Olympic Games grand opening. She stated it was a well-organized and <br /> staffed event, very successful. <br /> M/S Harnett/Vice Mayor Howard to adjourn in honor of Joe Fernekes, the man referred to <br /> as "Mr. South San Francisco", who passed away the week prior.
