proclamation <br />Honoring Sequoia Union High School District <br />Board Trustee Georgia Jack <br />WHEREAS, Georgia Jack served on the Sequoia Union High School District Board of Trustees from 2015 <br />to 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, her board service was preceded by many years of active volunteer service including two years <br />as president of the Redwood City Education Foundation (RCEF) and two years chairing a music <br />fundraising committee for the RCEF; and <br />WHEREAS, Georgia Jack served for five years on the Shared Decision -Making Committee (SDMC) at <br />Woodside High School and served two years on the Woodside High School Foundation Board; and <br />WHEREAS, Georgia Jack has served on numerous committees in both the Redwood City and Sequoia <br />Union High School districts, including committee participation on the recent parcel tax initiatives for the <br />Redwood City Elementary School District; and <br />WHEREAS, the parcel taxes have helped supplement operating costs for the local schools including <br />funding for libraries, enrichment classes, field trips, science, reading specialists, tutors, homework clubs, <br />computers, art, music, and physical education. Without these much-needed funds, schools would have <br />slashed these important programs for students; and <br />WHEREAS, Georgia Jack has also served as treasurer of the Redwood City Woman's Club; and <br />WHEREAS, Georgia Jack has worked in non-profit development/fundraising since 1990 and has held <br />development positions at the St. Vincent de Paul Society, San Francisco Catholic Archdiocese; the <br />Peninsula Humane Society, San Mateo; Planned Parenthood of Austin, Texas; and the Children's Health <br />Council, Palo Alto. She has been a staff member with Stanford University's Office of Development since <br />2001.
