MINUTE ORDER
CITY COUNCIL MEETING

April 13, 1998
MO. 98-098

CITY CLERK DEPARTMENT
Redwood City

DATE: April 16, 1998

Attention: City Manager
City Attorney
Council
Finance Director
Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director

SUBJECT: Conceptual Designs and Cost Estimates for Stulsaft and Stafford
Parks (708,304)

Meeting of the Council of the City of Redwood City on April 13, 1998.

Present: Councilmembers Bain, Claire, Harmett, Ira, Leipzig, Ruskin
and Mayor Howard

Absent: None

The following motion was made, carried and entered on the Minutes:

M/S: LEIPZIG/IRA TO APPROVE ALTERNATIVE NO. 2 (GO
FORWARD WITH THE SCALED BACK VERSION)

Council Member Claire said he would not support the motion as he supported
the complete design, costing $1,050,000. He said the additional money could be
found in the Reserve Fund, and the proposed improvements were needed every
bit as much as the badly needed playing fields.

Council Member Hartnett said he would support the motion, and it was his
understanding that the motion did not "preclude building it as originally
proposed." He expressed support for beginning the two-park project as soon as
possible and considering the additions at a later time.
