The stimulus package, which has grown to nearly $940 billion, drew opposition from <br />moderates this week. Unlike the House, the Senate will not have enough votes to pass the <br />package without some Republican support. Democratic moderates indicated late Thursday that <br />they were close to a deal that would decrease the price tag of the package and .garner support <br />from enough Republicans to pass the legislation.
