<br /> <br />The residents were asked to name the single, most important issue facing Redwood City. They were free to <br />mention any issue that came to mind, and they were not prompted by the interviewer with a list of responses or <br />categories. Approximately 20 percent of the residents did not know or did not have an opinion (DK/NA), and <br />this pattern of responses is often seen in cities with high satisfaction with quality of life. Otherwise, the <br />residents mentioned a wide variety of issues, which suggests that they have diverse perspectives and <br />experiences. Although no single issue emerged as a clear priority, the economy and problems with gangs were <br />mentioned the relatively most frequently, at 11 percent and 9 percent of the responses, respectively. <br /> <br />
