<br />8A <br />Page 18 <br /> <br />League President Appoints Board of Directors Nominating Committee <br /> <br />Judy Mitchell, League president and mayor, Rolling Hills Estates, has appointed the 2009 Board <br />of Directors Nominating Committee. Appointed to the committee and charged with the <br />responsibility of nominating League officers and at-large directors, are: Ron Loveridge (chair), <br />mayor, Riverside; Harry Armstrong, mayor pro tern, Clovis; Bill Bogaard, mayor, Pasadena; Tony <br />Cardenas, council member, Los Angeles; Iya Falcone, council member, Santa Barbara; Rod <br />Gould, city manager, Poway; Chip Holloway, mayor, Ridgecrest; Sophie Maxwell, supervisor. San <br />Francisco; Jean Quan, council member, Oakland; Janice Rutherford, council member, Fontana; <br />and Marty Simonoff. council member, Brea. <br /> <br />The Nominating Committee will meet on July 16 before the July 16-17,2009 Board meeting, to <br />interview the 10 finalists for at-large and aU 2nd vice president candidates. The committee's <br />recommendations will be announced during the opening session of the League's Annual <br />Conference in San Jose on Sept. 16, 2009. <br /> <br />Interested In Serving on the League Board of Directors? <br /> <br />The League of California Cities welcomes nominations from elected officials interested in serving <br />in five at-large positions (two-year term). or Second Vice President (one-year term). All nominees <br />for Second Vice President must have previously served on the Board of Directors. <br /> <br />If you are interested in submitting your name (or another erected official's name) for nomination to <br />the League Board of Directors, please provide the information requested on the nomination form. <br />along with a bio and letter requesting consideration I to the League's Sacramento headquarters on <br />or before end of business on Friday, May 15, 2009.
