Presentation: Hetch Hetchy Tour and Discussion about Water - Council <br />Members Aguirre and Pierce and Public Works Superintendent Justin Ezell. <br /> <br />Council Member Aguirre introduced the item and expressed her appreciation for the <br />system that previous generations have put in place which now benefits millions of people. <br />Council Member Pierce said there were 50 on the tour and it was a diverse group with rich <br />backgrounds. She explained that the system is gravity driven and impressive as a whole. <br />Justin Ezell went through slides illustrating the systems' trajectory, its components and <br />history (presentation on file). <br /> <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR - CITY COUNCIL <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY BOARD <br /> <br />MOTION: waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances by title, adopt <br />the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. <br /> <br />M/S Ira/Howard to adopt the Consent Calendar except item 6.1 D. Motion carries <br />unanimously by electronic vote. <br />Council Member Pierce inquired if bike lanes are being considered on this project. Mr. <br />Vorametsanti said that this is not included but there will be enough space on the bulbouts <br />for future consideration of such lanes. <br />M/S Pierce/Ira to adopt Consent Calendar item 6.1 D after discussion. Motion carries <br />unanimously by electronic vote. <br /> <br />6.1 Section - Motions <br /> <br />A. Approve the City Council meeting minutes of July 28, 2008 as submitted. <br />Minute Order 08-227 <br /> <br />B. Award of Contract - Hoover Park Renovation Project. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve, by motion, the contract documents and award the contract for the Hoover <br />Park Renovation Project to the lowest responsible bidder, Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. <br />of Santa Clara, for their responsive and responsible low base bid of $485,272.00 <br />and authorize the City Manager to increase the contract amount up to 100/0 of the <br />amount awarded if necessary. Minute Order 08-228 <br /> <br />C. Award of Contract.......
