STAFF REPORTS - <br /> A. Formation of a"Complete Streets" Advisory Committee (formerly known as the <br /> Bike-Pedestrian Committee) to address mobility issues, with an emphasis on <br /> traditionally under-represented users. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Approve by motion the formation of a Redwood City Complete Streets Advisory <br /> Committee (Advisory Committee) to increase safe mobility for the Redwood City <br /> community with an emphasis on traditionally under-represented users such as <br /> bicyclists and pedestrians, choose one of the two proposed levels of scope and <br /> duties, and provide direction for next steps. <br /> 1. Level 1: basic scope <br /> 2. Level 2: broader scope (209) Minute Order 09-010 <br /> One Council Member shared concerns with the amount of time required to support such <br /> a body. The time investment was discussed and the fact that this would be an advisory <br /> body with recommending authority to the Council. One Council Member shared <br /> concerns that the committee might become an operational advisory committee. <br /> John Langbein supports the formation of this body and asks that Council move forward. <br /> Mr. Langbein explained the value of such an advisory body. <br /> Rebecca Ratcliff said that she represents those who cannot serve but she is <br /> impressed with Redwood City and its initiatives. She urges the Council to continue <br /> the philosophy of alternative modes of transportation.
