4. Council Member Ira — no comment. <br /> 5. Council Member Pierce — Thanked the City Clerk and Finance Departments <br /> for support provided with the last League of California Cities Peninsula <br /> Division dinner. The event was well attended and the discussion was about <br /> budgetary and economic issues as well as sharing resources. She reported <br /> that a board member from CalPers, Peter Oliveira, gave a presentation and <br /> she was encouraged by what San Mateo County City Managers Association is <br /> doing. She also announced legislative days in April. <br /> 6. Vice Mayor Howard — Reported that at the end of March HEART (Housing <br /> Endowment and Regional Trust Fund) will be discussing its budget and 09/10 <br /> priorities. She will return to Council with an executive summary. If a <br /> presentation is needed, she can arrange it through Chris Mohr, Executive <br /> Director for that organization. <br /> 7. Mayor Foust — Announced the Sequoia Awards event took place last Thursday <br /> night and how 145K was given away to scholarship recipients at a ceremony <br /> with 400 attendees. It was an evening to remember and the individual award <br /> went to Jeff and Penny Richardson and 1-800-Dry-Clean received the <br /> business award. Mayor Foust announced that on April 13, 2009 a <br /> representative from RAFT will come to the Council Meeting and give a <br /> presentation and share materials. Last Friday she was at Silver Springs <br /> Nefinrork, downtown Redwood City, with various Mayors from the Bay Area to <br /> sign the Bay Area Climate Change Collaborative. She also reported that at <br /> the last Transportation Authority Board meeting she saw the electrification <br /> presentation that is coming to the Council on March 23. She also attended the <br /> Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) presentation last <br /> week at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. She spoke at the event, <br /> providing a city perspective on how the Redwood City will handle a possible <br /> application for the Cargill site. <br /> 9. ADJOURNMENT - M/S Howard/Bain to adjourn the meeting in memory of Sandra <br /> Morgan, si r of Susan Moeller, at 8:08 p.m. Vice Mayor Howard shared details about <br /> ife of a dra Morgan.
