For more information about the 2009 Legislative Action Days. please <br />visit www.cacities.ora/events. <br /> <br />Pooled Money Investment Board Proceeds Cautiously, Awaiting Outcome of <br />Planned $4 Billion Bond Sale <br /> <br />The Pooled Money Investment Board (PMIB) voted on March 18 to continue disbursing the $650 <br />million authorized in January to fund the exempted 276 local public works projects. These <br />projects are worth approximately about $3.6 billion. PMIB will reconvene the week of March 30 to <br />review the outcome of. the planned sale next week of $4 billion of tax-exempt government <br />obligation bonds (GO bonds). <br /> <br />If the bond issue is determined to be successful, the PMIB will release another $500 million for <br />other infrastructure projects to be prioritized according to criteria developed by Department of <br />Finance (DOF). While the passage of the budget has eased the market and appears to have <br />enabled the state to issue bonds. the PMIS decision comes as a cautious step amid declining <br />state revenues and cash problems. <br /> <br />4 <br />
