<br />c <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />01/12/2009 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14919 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE THE <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND <br />WATERWAYS FOR THE ABATEMENT OF ABANDONED, WRECKED, OR <br />DISMANTLED WATERCRAFT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 25, 2008 the California Department of Boating and Waterways <br />(CDBW) approved an application by the Redwood City Police Department for the removal and <br />disposal of abandoned, wrecked, or dismantled watercraft, which pose a substantial hazard to <br />navigation in Redwood City Waterways; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CDBW awarded a grant, not to exceed $10.000, to reimburse the Police <br />Department for costs associated with the abatement of abandoned watercraft which must be used by <br />June 3D. 2009; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a resolution is necessary for the Chief of Police to execute the agreement with the <br />California Department of Boating and Waterways; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby incorporated by this <br />reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br /> <br />2.
