"" SWC.~jg-c 7/22/81 RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 8924 ORIGINAL JUL 2 7 1981 RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE FURNISHING OF STREET MAINTENANCE ~mTERIALS (SAND, AGGREGATE, PEA GRAVEL, GRANITE CHIPS AND CEMENT) FOR 1981-82 FISCAL YEAR; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT THEREFOR; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSIT WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 8874, adopted June 15, 1981, the City Clerk called for bids for the furnishing of street maintenance materials (sand, aggregate, pea gravel, granite chips, concrete and cement) for 1981-82 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said call, bids were received and filed with the City Clerk for the furnishing of all of the aforementioned material except for concrete material; and WHEREAS, Peninsula Building Materials, Redwood City, California, is the only, and lowest responsible bidder for the furnishing of said material, except for cement, and it is the intention of this Council to award said bid to Peninsula Building Materials; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The bid of Peninsula Building Materials, in the amount of Sixty Thousand Seventy-four and 30/100 Dollars ($60,074.30), more or less, for the furnishing of street maintenance materials (sand, aggregate, pea gravel, granite chips and cement) for 1981-82 fiscal year in accord- ance with the bidder's proposal, dated July 7, 1981, and in accordance with the specifications therefore on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby accepted and said bidder is hereby found and declared to be the lowest responsible bidder for the furnishing of said material. 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agree- ment with Peninsula Building Materials for the furnishing of the above mentioned material in accordance with, and subject to, the terms and conditions of the aforementioned specifications and in accordance with the aforementioned bidder's proposal. 8924
