'- EXHIBIT "A" - <br /> <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> !,IRRARY PAGE/SENIOR PAGE <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To perform routine task~ in support of the general organization of library materials, <br />displays and furnishings; to sort and shelve books, audio- visual materials, periodicals; to <br />check in materials returned. May assist with library programs and service to the public. <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> <br />Page - this is the entry level class in the Page series, this eiass is distinguished from the <br />Senior Page by the performance of more routine task~ and assignments. Employees in this <br />class will typically have had no previous Library Page or related experieure. <br /> <br />Senior Page - this is the full journey level class in the Page series. Employees at this level <br />are required to be familiar with procedures related to assigned area of responsibility. Job <br />may consist primarily of directly assisting the public. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Page - receives immediate supervision from higher level library personnel. <br /> <br />Senior Page - receives immediate supervision from higher level library personnel. May <br />provide functional and t~chnical supervision over less experieured pages. <br /> <br />EXAMPI,ES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES <br /> <br />Pa~e <br /> <br />Shelve or return to storage books, periodicals, audio-visunl materials and other items in the <br />library collections. <br /> <br />Maintain correct alphabetical and numerical order of library collections on shelves or other <br />storage locations as specifically assigned; maintain items in display holders, as instructed. <br /> <br />Maintain basic order of library collections, displays and furnishings in library facilities as <br />directed. <br /> <br />Empty book bins; sort items; deliver items to appropriate locations within the libary <br />facilities. <br /> <br /> <br />
