" <br /> <br />~ -- <br /> <br />- <br />.'. ... <br /> <br />RESOLVED, THAT WHEREAS, on the 15th day of November~ 1928~ under <br /> <br />arid pursua.nt t.o the consti tution and l~ws of the State of California, <br />a board of fifteen freeholders was elected to frame a charter for 'the <br /> <br />Town of Redwood City; and <br />i~HEHEAS, on the 7th day of February, 1929, and wi t,hin the time <br /> <br />() <br /> <br />allowed by the constitution and lawe of the State of Oalifornia said <br /> <br />board of freeholders filed in the office of the Clerk of said Town a <br /> <br />proposed charter for said Town; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said board of freeholders did fix the 9th day of April, <br /> <br />1929, as the date for holding the election on the ratification of said <br /> <br />charter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said election was duly and regularly and legally held " <br /> <br />on said 9th day of April, 1929, on the ratification of said proposed <br /> <br />charter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the votes given and cast at said election were duly and <br /> <br />regularly and legally canvassed; and <br /> <br />VlHEREAS, a majority of the voters voting at said election voted <br /> <br />in favor of the ratification of said charter, and said charter was duly <br /> <br />ratified as required by law by the voters of said Town; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on the 18th day of April, 1929, said charter was duly <br /> <br /> <br />ratified and approved by the Legislature of the State of California <br /> <br />and thereupon became the law of said Town; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said charter increases the number of Oouncilmenof <br /> <br />said Town from five to seven and provides that an election be held in <br /> <br />said Town on the 8th Tuesday after the ratification or said oharter <br /> <br />by the Legislature of the State of Oalifornia; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, June the 11th, 1929, is the 8th Tuesday after the 18th <br /> <br />day of April, 1929, the date when said charter was ratified by the <br /> <br /> <br />Legislature of the State of California: <br /> <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVKD by the Oouncil of the Town of Redwood <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City that under and pursuant to the provisions of said charter a special <br /> <br /> <br />munioipal election be and the same shall be held in said Town of Redwood <br /> <br />1. <br />
