Redwood City's share of these costs during the first five years of the program is <br />estimated to be $94 million. <br /> <br />In consideration of the proposed sewer rate increase, staff initiated the following public <br />notification activities: <br />. Mailed approximately 26,000 notices of the increase according to the Proposition 218 <br />notification process on April 1 0, 2009 to property owners, <br />. Explained the proposed sewer rate increase in the City's conservation newsletter sent <br />to customers in the utility billing; <br />. Posted all of the above information on the City's website <br /> <br />To date, the City received two protest letters opposing the sewer service charge <br />increase. <br /> <br />AL TERNA liVES <br />City Council could reject or revise Council Utilities Committee/staff recommendation. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />If Council approves the Council Utilities Committee recommended changes, the <br />Redwood City residential customer's bi-monthlv sewer utility bill will increase by $3.69 <br />from $82.02 to $89.40.
