<br />6.3A <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CALLING ELECTION AND REQUESTING BOARD OF <br />SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, TO CONSOLIDATE <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2009 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City and Ordinance No. 2078, adopted April 11, 1994, General Municipal <br />Elections of the City of Redwood City shall be held in said City the first Tuesday after <br />the first Monday in November of each odd-numbered year, commencing with said <br />election in November 1995; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Elections Code Section 10400, <br />elections called to be held on the same day and wholly or partly within the same <br />territory, may be consolidated upon the order of the governing body or bodies calling the <br />elections; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to consolidate the aforesaid General Municipal <br />Election; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 10402 and 10403 of the <br />Elections Code, the governing body of the jurisdiction that receives a request for <br />consolidation may order said consolidation and, therefore, this Council desires that said <br />Board of Supervisors order consolidation of said District's election with the General <br />Municipal Election of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City and Ordinance No. 2078, adopted April 11 ,1994, a General <br />Municipal Election shall be held on November 3, 2009, for the purpose of <br />electing four (4) Council Members for the full term of four (4) years each. <br /> <br />2. The Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, California, is <br />hereby requested, pursuant to the provisions of Elections Code Section <br />10402 and 10403, to consolidate the General Municipal Election of the <br />City of Redwood City to be held on November 3,2009. <br /> <br />3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish, or cause to be <br />published, in the official newspaper of the City of Redwood City, in the <br />time, form and manner required by law, notice of the aforesaid General <br />Municipal Election. <br /> <br />F:Atty/Reso/Reso.1901 <br />041609 <br />
