<br />6.4A <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />provisions to allow the County to suspend the permits of retailers that repeatedly violate <br />their permits. <br /> <br />The Citis Police Department is supportive of a county-wide tobacco retailer ordinance <br />because it informs tobacco retailers of their obligations regarding tobacco sales to <br />juveniles. The ordinance itself does not affect the Police Department's own criminal <br />enforcement activities because it can still penalize businesses that sell tobacco to <br />minors under state law. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The City Council could choose not to update the Tobacco Retailer Permit ordinance <br />which could interfere with the County's ability to fully enforce the ordinance via the <br />administrative process. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
