06/01/2009 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14939 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR CERTAIN <br />SERVICES RELATING TO CONSOLIDATED GENERAL MUNICIPAL <br />ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 3, 2009 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City and Ordinance No. 2078, adopted April 11, 1994, the General Municipal <br />Election of the City of Redwood City shall be held in said City on the first Tuesday after <br />the first Monday in November of each odd - numbered year; and <br />WHEREAS, the General Municipal Election of the City of Redwood City shall be <br />held on November 3, 2009, and shall be consolidated with other local elections; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo provides certain services pertaining to the <br />conduct of elections as set forth more fully in the Agreement hereinafter referenced. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That certain Agreement by and between the City of Redwood City, a charter city <br />and municipal corporation of the State of California, and the County of San <br />Mateo, entitled "Service Agreement for the Provision of Election Services <br />between the City of Redwood City and the San Mateo County Chief Elections <br />Officer" for the performance by the County Clerk of the County of San Mateo of <br />certain services pertaining to the Consolidated General and Municipal Elections <br />to be held on November 3, 2009, a copy of which Agreement shall be on file in <br />the office of the City Clerk, to which reference is hereby made for the full <br />particulars thereof, is hereby approved, subject to negotiation and approval by <br />the City Manager and approval as to form by the City Attorney's office, and the <br />City Manager and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute, and <br />to attest thereto, respectively, said Agreement for and on behalf of the City of <br />Redwood City. <br />2.
