" <br /> <br />. .' . <br />. .' ." <br />, ' ' <br />TotheH()nOrilbleMayorandCi~gouncil <br />FrorntheCityManager <br /> <br />June 15, 2009 <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br />Set Public Hearing for Adopting Fiscal Year 2009-10 Budget <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Set the date of July 13. 2009 for formal action on the budget for FY 2009-10. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />Section 51.5 of the Redwood City Charter requires that the City Council establish the date <br />for the budget public hearing and the budget resolution adoption. It is recommended that <br />this hearing along with the adoption of the budget resolution take place on July 13, 2009. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVE <br />Section 51.5 of the City Charter requires that the Council establish a date upon which the <br />budget resolution shall be presented and a public hearing held. It is the Council's <br />prerogative to select the date that they believe is most appropriate. Accordingly, the date <br />provided in this report is the date recommended by the City Manager and may be changed <br />at Council's discretion. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this recommendation. Adopting the FY <br />2009-10 budget without setting a public hearing would not be in compliance with the City <br />Charter. <br /> <br />1)ffl- <br /> <br />Brian J.
