". .~' <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />-......-----........-...... <br /> <br />RESOLVED that a contract be entered into between <br /> <br />the CITY OF REIDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation, and the <br /> <br />SAN MATEO COUNTY'SCAVENGER COMPANY, a:' ,corpora tion, for the <br /> <br />removal of garbage from the premises of residents and the <br /> <br />disposition thereof outside of said city by said corporation, <br />and the collection of the charges therefor by this city; that <br />said contract be made for a period of five (5) years from <br /> <br />May 1, 1943 with a provision for the extension thereof for <br /> <br />an additional period of five (5) years unless this city de- <br /> <br />sires to take over the collection of garbage and refuse itself; <br />that said contract provide for the payment to said corporation <br />of eighty-seven and one-half (87t%) percent of all moneys col- <br /> <br />lected for the removal of garbage, with provision that such <br /> <br />percentage shall apply only during the present period of war <br /> <br />and its concurrent shortage of men, high cost of labor, and <br /> <br />prohibi tion by the :F'ederal Office of Price Administra tion of <br /> <br />any increase in service charges for garbage collection; and <br /> <br />that whenever such unusual conditions, or any of' them change <br /> <br />the percentage of any such collections to be paid to said corpora- <br /> <br />tion shall be r~negotiated and changed in accordance with economic <br /> <br />condi tions then prevailing: provided however the. t in any event <br />not less than eighty (80%) percent of the sums so collected be <br /> <br />paid to said corporation; <br /> <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and he is <br /> <br />hereby authorizedahd directed to enter into such contract on <br /> <br />behalf of this city, such contract in other respects to be sub- <br /> <br />stantially similar to the contract for the collection of gar- <br /> <br />bage made by this city on December 1, 1932. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />-1- <br />
