06/15/2009 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14943 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY REAFFIRMING <br />MEMBERSHIP IN THE SAN MATEO COUNTY PRE - HOSPITAL <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES GROUP <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is a member of the San Mateo County Pre- <br />Hospital Emergency Medical Services Group ( "Group "), a joint powers agency which <br />was established in 1997 by and through the adoption of a Joint Powers Agreement <br />( "Agreement "); and <br />WHEREAS, the agreement has been amended three times, most recently on <br />February 9, 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the Group is to provide pre - hospital advanced life <br />support emergency medical services within San Mateo County (except within the <br />jurisdictional boundaries of the City of South San Francisco); and <br />WHEREAS, the JPA will provide pre - hospital advanced life support emergency <br />medical services pursuant to a Designated Paramedic First Response Service Provider <br />Agreement with the County of San Mateo. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City Council reaffirms its membership in the San Mateo County Pre - Hospital <br />Emergency Medical Services Group in accordance with the Joint Powers Agreement <br />which established the Group. <br />Passed and adopted this 15 day of June, 2009 by the following vote: <br />Atty /Reso /Reso.1916 14943 <br />060109 1 MUFF # 304 <br />
