7A <br /> Page 8 <br /> RES4LUTION IVO. <br /> A RES�LUTI4N 4F THE CITY OF REDW40D CiTY APPR�VING <br /> WATER SUPPLY AGREEMENT WITH TH� CITY AND C�UNTY OF <br /> SAN FRANCISC� <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City �City) has purchased water from the City <br /> and County of San Francisco(San Francisco}for many years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the "Settiernent Agreement and Master Water Sales Contract� <br /> be�nreen the City and San Francisco, which was entered into in 1984, wi(I expire an <br /> June 3�, 2a49; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Bay Area Wa�er Supply and <br /> Conservation Agency {BAV1lS�A}, which was formed in 20a2 pursuant to Water Code <br /> -Section 8130Q et seq. to represent the interests of the communities in Alameda, San <br /> Mateo and Santa Clara counties that purchase water from San Francisco; and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 25, 2006, this Council, by Resolution No. 14734 <br /> appoin#ed BAWSCA to represent it in negotiations for a new water supply agreement <br /> with San Francisco; and <br /> WMEREAS, each of the other 26 entities which are members of BAWSCA <br /> similarly delegated negotiating authority to BAWSCA; and <br /> WNEREAS, BAWSCA has submitted periodic reports to City on progress during <br /> the negotiations and has provided detailed briefings on al! significant elements of the <br /> Agreemen#; and <br /> Atty/Reso/Resv.�921 <br /> o�a9os � <br />
