The cities of San Jose and Santa Clara are not permanent eustomers <br /> and are not included in this amaunt. The Agreement preserves the Wholesale <br /> Customers' claim that San Francisco is ob[igated to pro�ide water o�er and above this <br /> amount, and San Francisco's denial of that obliga#ion. <br /> How much water would San Jose and Santa Clara recei�e? <br /> The cities of San Jose and Santa Clara are currently temporary and interrupfible <br /> customers o#fihe San Francisco regional water system. They are able to purchase <br /> surplus watefi from 5an Francisco. These two ci�ies current[y purchase a combined total <br /> of about 9 mgd. Under the new agreement, San Francisco would pro�ide San Jose and <br /> Santa Clara up to 9 mgd until the year 20�8, but they wou�d continue to be temporary <br /> and interruptible cus#omers. <br /> V11i11 #he water aaencies outside receive as much water as thev are proiectinp to <br /> ne� <br /> No. The agencies will be about 11 mgd short of their projections. In 2004 the 27 <br /> Wholesale Customers projected they would need to purchase 195 mgd of water from <br /> San Francisco in 2018. This amount of water supplements their use of other sources of <br /> water and already inciudes their commitment to 11 mgd of new water conservation plus <br /> 9 mgd of recycled water. �n �ctaber 2008, San Francisco imposed a limit on sa(es of <br /> water to its Retail and Wholesale Customers of 265 mgd until at least 2Q18: a limit of 81 <br /> mgd on sales to San Francisco Retail Customers, and a limit of 184 mgd on sales to <br /> Wholesale Cus#omers. This action leaves the 27 Wholesale Customers 91 mgd shor� of <br /> #heir projected needs in 2018.
