PURPOSE <br /> The Courthouse Square is a unique community asset created for the benefit of all <br /> o# the residents o# San Mateo County. Redwood City mana�es a�d supports events <br /> and activities at Co��-thouse Square which contr�bu#e to th� economic enhancement, <br /> cuf#ura[ enrichmen#, and promotion of the City for the en�o�►�:ent, convenience, and <br /> safefiy of fihe community. The purpose o# this Chapier is f� determine when a <br /> Courthouse Square Event Permit is r�quired, #o su.pport the rr��t�agement of the <br /> � - Courthouse Square, and to ensure the pub�ic safety at the Caurthouse S�quare. <br /> This Chapter is supplemented wit� the Cou;rthouse Square Event Administrative <br /> Guidelines and Cour#house Square Schedule of Fees. The Adm�nistrative Guidelines <br /> describes the palicies and procedures for events at Cour�house Square. The Schedule <br /> af Fees, adopted by Council, establishes a fee structure fo� Courthouse Square events. <br /> SEC7'IC}N 11. GEE�ER�lL PR�!lISI�l�S <br /> Definitions. For the purposes of this Article: <br /> A. "Admi�istraiive �u:��r��.l�nes" means policies and ��ocedures governing the use <br /> of Courthouse Square. <br /> B. "Admission Fees" means fees charged for entry or admission to an event. <br /> C. "A;ri�pls��ed SoGnd" means music, speech Qr other au�itory impress��n, <br /> projected o�:r transmit��d by e�ectronic equipment intended to increase the <br /> range, v�lume:, d.istance., o°r intensity thereof. <br /> D. "Ap:pficant" means any person, firm, association, corporation, organizativn, <br /> club, or ad hoc cflmmittee seeking a Courthouse Square event permit from <br /> the C''ity to co�duct or sponsor an event governed by this article. The <br /> applican# shall be the individual at least 18 years oid who is directly <br /> responsible for organizing and/or conducting �he event, includfng event clean <br /> up. if alcohol wiE[ be ser�ed at the event, the person signing the application <br /> must be at least 2� years ald. <br /> E. "Assembly" means a g�oup of persons gathered together for a common <br /> reasan. <br /> �.
