<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />NO. 125 <br /> <br />ENDORSING BILIB FOR STATE ASSISTANCE ON ENGINEER- <br /> <br />ING PLANS AND SURVEYS POR POST-WAR PROJECTS, AND FOR ACQUISITION <br />OF RIGHTS OF WAY AND SITES FOR SUCH POST-WAR PUBLIC WORKS AS <br /> <br />HAVE A STATE INTEREST. <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />has approved a program of post-war public wor}~s pr-ojects to <br /> <br />construct numerous public works necessarily foregone during <br /> <br />the period of the present war and others necessary by reason <br /> <br />of the growth of the city, and engineering plans Bnd surveys <br />incident thereto should be prepared during the war so that <br /> <br />such public works can be begun and prosecuted as promptly <br /> <br />as possible when labor and materials are available, and this <br /> <br />city has inadequate funds for such plans and surveys; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the League of California Cities has sponsored <br /> <br />a bill for consideration by the first extra session of the <br /> <br />state Legislature to convene on June 5, 1944 whereby the <br />S ta te:o;f California will appropria te a subs tantial sum for <br /> <br />aIle-co tion to the ci ties end coun ties of this s ta te for de.... <br /> <br />velopment of engineerlng plans and surveys for such post-war <br /> <br />public works projects, providing each city will, from its own <br /> <br />local funds, matbh the appropriation to such city from such <br /> <br />state fund; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS said League has also sponsored another bill <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />for the appropriation of a substantial sum by this state for <br /> <br />the acquisition of rights of ways and sites for such municipal <br /> <br />post-war public works projects as definitely have a "state. <br /> <br />interest" in the project itself, such as sewage treatment <br /> <br />plants, and one of the post-war projects of this city is a <br /> <br />sewage treatment plant; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEID that the Council of <br /> <br />-1- <br />
