<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 W <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />RELATIVE TO WORK~~J'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR VOLUNTEER <br />CIVILIAN DEFENSE WORKERS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1596 of the Military and Veterans <br />Code, Chapter 920, statutes of 1943, providea: <br />"The California state War Council shall <br />establish by rule and regulation various classes <br />of civilian defense workers and the scope of the <br />duties of each class. The California state War <br />Council shall also adopt rules and regulations <br />prescribing the manner in which civilian de- <br />fense workers of each class are to be registered. <br />All such rules and regulations shall be designed <br />to facilitate the paying of workmen's compensa- <br />tion.>>; and <br />WHEREAS, the California state War Council on the <br />7th day of October, 1943, adopted rules and regulations <br />establishing classes of civilian defense workers, the scope <br />of the duties of each class and the manner of registration <br />of such workers, and <br />WHEREAS, Section 1597 of the Military and Veterans' <br />Code, Chapter 920, statutes of 1943, provides: <br />"Any civilian defense organization which <br />both agrees to follow the rules and regulations <br />established by' the California State War Council <br />pursuant to the provisionsof Section 1596 of this <br />code and substantially complies with such rules <br />and regulations shall be certified by the California <br /> <br />-1- <br />
