<br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 298 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PEOCLliIMING REGISTRATION WEEK. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />WBERF.AS there has been a great influx of new resi- <br /> <br />dents into California during the years of the war and since <br /> <br />the termination of hostilities in Europe and in the Orient, <br /> <br />and many veterans have come to majority during and since <br /> <br />their military service, and it is desirable to have as large <br /> <br />a registration of voters as possible so that there may be <br /> <br />a higher percentage of electors qualified to vote at all elec- <br /> <br />tions hereafter to be held in California; <br /> <br />RESOLVED tha t tbi s Ci ty C01.mcil of the Ci ty of Redwood <br /> <br />City does hereby urge all persons eligible to vote in San Mateo <br /> <br />County and elsewhere in California to register at as early a date <br /> <br />8S possible and for the encouragement of registration of voters <br /> <br />l'Jereby proc19.ims the week beginning April 15th, 1946 as regis- <br /> <br />tr tion week. <br /> <br />The above and foregoing Resolution was passed and <br /> <br />adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a reg- <br /> <br />ula~ meeting thereof held on the 1st day of April, 1946, by the <br /> <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES and in favor of the passage and adoption of the <br /> <br />foregoing Resolution: Councilmen: ANDERSON, A~I.(STRONG, BRI'l'SCEGI, <br /> <br />GR1~ NGER McNULTY and l!IL~rON. <br /> <br />NOES and against the passage and adoption of the <br /> <br />foregoing Resolution: Councilmen: NONE <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmen: FLETCHER. <br /> <br />/h 7 /1.4! ~ <br />~ U/ ~ <br /> <br /> <br />\.,;i ty <br /> <br />I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution <br /> <br />this first day of April, 1946 <br /> <br />f/(/f#~- <br /> <br />Mayor of the Cify of Redwood City <br />
