6.1 B <br /> Page 3 <br /> AGREEIVIENT F�R CIVIL ENG[NEERtNG SERVlCES <br /> tBKF Engineers� <br /> THlS AGREEMENT is made and entered into as o# the day af <br /> , 2�09, by and between the CfTY OF REDVIl40D CITY, a charter <br /> city and municipal cocporation of �he State of Ca�iforn�a ("C�ty"), and BKF Engineers, a <br /> California corporation, ("Consultant"} €collectively, the "Parties"). <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. City r�quires the professionaf services of a civ�i engineering services firm <br /> fhat is experienced in levee improvement projects. <br /> B. Consu(tant has the necessary experience in providing professional <br /> services and advice related to the Redwood Shores Le�ee [mpro�ement Project — <br /> " A�rport Segment. <br /> G. Selection of Consultant is expected to achieve the des�re� resul#s in an <br /> expedited fashion. <br /> D. Consultant has subrrE�tted a proposa� to Gity and has aff rmed its <br /> willingness and ability to perform such work. <br /> NOW, THEREF�RE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutua( co�enants <br /> contained herein, the Parkies agree as follows: <br /> 1. Scope of UVork. City retains Consulfianfi to perform, and Consultant agrees to <br /> render, those services (�he "Services"} that are defined in attached Exhibit "A," which is <br /> incorporated by this reference in aecordance with tnis Agreement's terms and <br /> conditions. <br /> 2. Standard of Performance. While perForming the Services, Consultant wilf <br /> exercise the reasanable professionai care and skill cus�omarily exercised by reputable <br /> members of Consultant's profession practicing in the [Vletropo�itan Nor#hern California <br /> Area, and wil� use reasonable diligence and best judgment while exercising its <br /> professional skill and expertise. <br /> 3. Term. Unless earlier terminated, the term of�his Agreement will commence upon <br /> the date first above wriften and shalf expire upon completion of performance o# Services <br /> hereunder by Consultant. <br /> 4. Schedule.
