PR�GEEDINGS lNITIATED BY RESOLUTI4N �F INTENTIQN aF <br /> COUNCIL�R PLANNWG COMMISSI�N: <br /> Proceedings may be in�tiated b� either resolution o# inter�tion of �he Planning <br /> �ommission or the City Council. <br /> A resolution of intention of the Council may either direct the Commission to prepare a <br /> plan, or part or eiement thereof, or may re�er a proposa! to the Commiss+on for review. <br /> The resolution may establish a time within which the Commission shall return its report, <br /> recommendations and any revised alternati�e plan. <br /> (4rd. No. 1 i 90, § 2) <br /> Cati�ornia Code—Go�ernment Code <br /> 65358 - <br /> �a) if it deems it to bs in the public interest, the legisla�ive body may amend all or parfi of <br /> an adop#ed general plan. An amendment to the general plan shall be initiated in the <br /> manner specified by tl�e legis�ative body. Subject to that limitation, an amendment may be made at any tir�e, as <br /> de#ermined by the legislati�e body. Each amendment may include more than one <br /> change to the general plan. . <br /> �c) The iimifiation on the frequency of amendments to a general plan contained in <br /> subdivision (b} dfles not apply #o amendments of the general plan requested and <br /> necessary #or a single development of residentiai units, at least 25 percent of which <br /> wi(I be occup�ed by or available �o persons and €am��ies of Iow or moderate income, <br /> as defined �y Sec�ian 5009� of the Health and Safety Code.
