<br />4/24/81 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />8 83 f) <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />APR 2 7 1981 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, legal services for the City of Redwood City <br /> <br />have heretofore been provided through a departmental organ- <br /> <br />ization: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in furtherance of its policy to achieve effi- <br /> <br />ciencies and economies in the operation of the City govern- <br /> <br />ment, without, however, substantially impairing the quality <br /> <br />of services essential to its operation, and after thorough <br /> <br />study, this Council desires to change the method by which <br /> <br />the City obtains legal services from a departmental organ- <br /> <br />ization to a contract for personal professional services: <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, David E. Schricker has been the City Attorney <br /> <br />of the City of Redwood City since 1968: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said David E. Schricker is willing and quali- <br /> <br />fied to provide legal services to the City and to continue <br /> <br />to serve as City Attorney under the contract hereinafter <br /> <br />referenced, and as a private practitioner of the law: <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br /> <br />City of Redwood City, as follows: <br /> <br />That certain agreement entitled "Agreement" by and <br /> <br />between the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation <br /> <br />of the State of California, and David E. Schricker, City <br /> <br />Attorney, providing for the furnishing of legal services <br /> <br />to the City, commencing upon July 1, 1981, and subject to <br /> <br />the terms and conditions therein stated, a copy of which <br /> <br />Agreement is on file in the Office of the City Clerk, to <br /> <br />which copy reference is hereby made for the particulars <br /> <br />thereof, is hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk <br /> <br />are hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agree- <br /> <br />ment for and on behalf of the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />8836 <br />
