DONALD KENNY <br /> <br />OR1GI~t4L <br />APR 2 0 1981 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council is extremely saddened to learn of the <br /> <br />untimely passing of James Donald "Don" Kenny; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Don Kenny was, at the time of his death, serving as <br /> <br /> <br />a member, and vice-president, of the Library Board of the City of <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood City; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Don Kenny was also a highly regarded attorney practicing <br /> <br /> <br />in the field of maritime law; and <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Don Kenny was a native of the City of Redwood City, <br /> <br /> <br />having pursued his education both locally and at Peninsula educational <br /> <br /> <br />institutions, as well as the University of San Francisco Law School; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, he participated actively in community affairs, <br /> <br /> <br />including religious activities through Mt. Carmel Catholic Church; <br /> <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Don Kenny's courage and strength in his battle against <br /> <br /> <br />cancer serves as but one example of his strength of character and <br /> <br /> <br />fortitude; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council, and the community it represents, has <br /> <br /> <br />suffered a great loss, but is unified in its conviction that Don <br /> <br /> <br />Kenny's life has enriched the lives of us all, and that through his <br /> <br /> <br />death we are all strengthened in the courage of mankind and the <br /> <br />belief of life's reward in our ultimate return to our Creator; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />This Council does hereby convey its sympathy and condolences <br /> <br /> <br />to the family of J. Donald Kenny, and, particularly, to his widow, <br /> <br /> <br />Chris, and his sons, James, John, Jeffrey, and Joseph; and <br /> <br />8d:35 <br />
