<br />ATTACHMENT~~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br />AGREEMENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 2820 HUNTINGTON AVENUE FOR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING <br /> <br />(SERVICE LEAGUE OF SAN MATEO COUNTY) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br /> <br />Development Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Section 24 of <br /> <br />the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 570.201 (a) for the Community <br /> <br />Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), funding assistance may be used to <br /> <br />fund eligible activities to be carried out by private non-profit entities or public <br /> <br />agencies which are duly organized to undertake affordable permanent and <br /> <br />transitional housing development services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Consolidated Plan and Housing Element goals of the City <br /> <br />of Redwood City rCity") include expanding the supply of affordable housing for <br /> <br />Redwood City households who are low income and special needs populations; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS I Service League of San Mateo County has applied for <br /> <br />funding assistance under the COBG Program to acquire land privately owned <br /> <br />and located at 2820 Huntington Avenue, in the unincorporated area of the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City (the "Property"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Service League of San Mateo County has entered into a <br /> <br />contract to purchase the Property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Service League of San Mateo County proposes to acquire <br /> <br />residential property to be used to provide supportive transitional housing for very <br /> <br />low income chronic homeless individuals and individuals at risk of <br /> <br />A TTY IRESOIRESO.1939 <br />081909 <br />
