<br />SWC:mf 3/5/81 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N o. 8 80 8 <br /> <br />OR\G\NAL <br />MAR 9 1981 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO CALIFORNIA <br />ENERGY COMMISSION FOR STREET LIGHT CONVERSION LOAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Energy Conservation Assistance Act of 1979 <br /> <br />authorizes the California Energy Commission to make low interest <br /> <br />loans to local governments for street light conversion projects; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City already has converted <br /> <br />some of its high energy mercury vapor and:!incandescent street <br /> <br />lights to low pressure or high pressure sodium vapor lights, <br /> <br />at a great energy and money savings; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires that the remaining mercury <br /> <br />vapor and incandescent lights be converted to new energy-efficient <br /> <br />lights, and to make such actual conversion as economically as <br /> <br />possible; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed <br /> <br />to submit an application to the California Energy Commission for <br /> <br />a low interest loan of Three Hundred Thirty-two Thousand and <br /> <br />No/IOO Dollars ($332,OOO~OO) in accordance with the Energy <br /> <br />Conservation Assistance Act of 1979, for street light conversion <br /> <br />in the City of Redwood City. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />8808 <br />
