<br />SECTION 3. Employees appointed to positions in the classifi- <br /> <br /> <br />cations designated in Section 1 hereof and who are required to work <br /> <br /> <br />an eight hour shift commencing between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and <br /> <br /> <br />6:00 a.m. shall receive additional compensation in the amount of <br /> <br /> <br />fifty cents (.50) per hour, and after February 1, 1982 in the <br /> <br /> <br />amount of fifty-five cents (.55) per hour, provided, however, <br /> <br /> <br />that such additional compensation shall not be included in <br /> <br /> <br />computations for overtime or other pay differentials, except, <br /> <br /> <br />however, if such employee has worked an eight hour shift commencing <br /> <br /> <br />between ,the aforementioned hours for a period of at least 30 <br /> <br /> <br />working days immediately preceding a paid holiday or the commence- <br /> <br /> <br />ment of a vacation or the commencement of a paid sick leave, <br /> <br /> <br />said employee shall be compensated at his established rate <br /> <br /> <br />of pay plus the above mentioned additional compensation for the <br /> <br /> <br />period of such holiday or leave. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 4. Any regular employee appointed to a position in <br /> <br /> <br />any of the classifications designated in Section 1 hereof who is <br /> <br /> <br />assigned in writing the duties of a job classification with a <br /> <br /> <br />hi~her salary range than that to which he is regularly assigned <br /> <br /> <br />on a temporary basis shall, commencing upon the first full <br /> <br /> <br />working day of such assignment, receive in lieu of his established <br /> <br /> <br />rate of pay, compensation at the lowest step or rate of pay for <br /> <br /> <br />the job classification to which duties he has been assigned, <br /> <br /> <br />representing an increase of at least five percent above the <br /> <br /> <br />rate paid to such employee immediately prior to such assignment <br /> <br /> <br />for that time worked; provided, however, that in no event shall <br /> <br /> <br />such employee 'receive in excess of the highest step or rate of <br /> <br /> <br />pay of the higher salary range. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 5. This resolution shall be effective on the date <br /> <br /> <br />of its adoption; provided, however, the provisions hereof shall be <br /> <br /> <br />operative retroactively to and including February 1, 1981. <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />-3- <br />
