From: Robin Guzzo
To: GRP -City Council
Subject: ADU Review March 8, 2021
Date: Monday, March 8, 2021 10:03:12 AM
CAUTION: This email originated from outside your organization. Exercise caution when
opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders.
Council:
This is to ask you to adopt the staff recommendations including the 16 foot maximum on the
detached ADU projects and limit the height to one story.
We believe the Staff paperwork provided combined with recommendations and positions that they
proposed was a win/win for everyone. The City of Redwood City cannot single handledly fix the housing
crisis. Given the amount of affordable housing units you are proposing for Sequoia Station, this indicates
another way as a City we are addressing the housing needs surrounding our area. (I do not agree with
the Sequoia Station proposal, but that is another issue). The City continues to work and have open
dialogue on Affordable Housing issues in our area. But it's a mute point if you choose to not listen to the
voices coming from this dialogue. The City Staff report was an indepth study. For you to ignore the
December 5-2 vote is very disheartening.
Adopting the recommended Staff proposal has something for everyone. It provides a housing option for
those who require this as a family, yet sets some limits for those who oppose this altogether. This
adoption creates less obstacles for neighbors and neighborhoods alike who are greatly affected by these
massive ADU's currently being proposed. It does not take all the obstacles away but it is a fair
recommendation by City Staff.
ADOPT THE STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS INCLUDING THE 16 -FT MAXIMUM ON DETACHED
ADU'S.
With Respect,
Robin D. Guzzo
John M. Gonzales
