On December 21, 2020,
the second reading of the ADU Ordinance was pulled from the consent calendar for discussion. Council
members expressed concerns over establishing a height maximum of 16 feet for detached ADUs, which
was more restrictive than the height standards adopted in 2019 and more restrictive than some
surrounding cities. On a 5-2 vote the City Council declined to adopt the ADU amendments and asked staff
to return the ordinance for further discussion of the ADU height standards.
.L .
11111111111111
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.org
65
