Plan, organize, administer, review, and evaluate the activities of the professional, <br />support, and contract staff; select staff and provide for training and professional <br />development. <br />11. Develop and direct the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, budget, <br />and work standards for the City Attorney Office. <br />OTHER JOB RELATED DUTIES <br />1. Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned. <br />JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL OUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowled of: <br />Principles of municipal administrative methods and procedures, organizations, and <br />functions. <br />Principles and procedures of civil law; emphasis on municipal government. <br />Principles, methods and practices of legal investigations; judicial procedures and the rules <br />of evidence. <br />Applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations affecting local government <br />operations, including land use, redevelopment, environmental, real estate, and <br />employment and labor relations. <br />Principles and practices of effective management and supervision, including set goals, <br />budgets, selecting staff, training, work standards, evaluation, and discipline. <br />Ability to: <br />Provide effective leadership and coordinate the legal activities of a large, full service, <br />municipal organization. <br />Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present administrative and legal information and data <br />in an effective manner. <br />Analyze information, identify problems, examine alternatives, reason logically, and <br />recommend action. <br />2 <br />14244 <br />
