In the event of a vacancy, a successor will be appointed by the City Council <br />for the remainder of the term. <br />Each member must be a resident of Redwood City or be employed in Redwood <br />City at the time of appointment and continuously during their tenure. Members cannot <br />hold any other public office or position in the City while serving as members of the <br />Committee. All members will have the right to vote on all submitted motions at <br />meetings. Members of the Committee will serve without compensation. <br />3. Meetings. The Committee shall meet at such times as may be necessary. <br />All meetings shall be open to the public and governed by the provisions of the Ralph M. <br />Brown Act, Government Code Section 54950, et seq. <br />4. Duties. The Committee shall be an advisory body to the Chief of Police <br />and receive staff support from the Police Department. The Committee shall: <br />a. Review City policing policies; <br />b. Review community concerns related to crime and policing practices; and <br />C. Receive an annual report on personnel complaint processes. <br />The Committee shall develop its annual work plan in partnership with the Chief of Police <br />and present its work plan annually to the City Council. The Committee shall not <br />participate in departmental personnel and disciplinary actions, ongoing criminal or <br />internal investigations, or active critical incidents and will not play any role in civil or <br />criminal litigation. <br />ATTY/RESO.0004/CC RESO ESTABLISHING THE POLICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE RESO.
