Click here <br />City Council to Review Proposed Zoning <br />Amendments to Child Care Regulations <br />On March 22, 2021 at 6 p.m., the City Council will review proposed zoning <br />amendments to child care regulations. The staff report and proposed <br />amendments will be released with the meeting agenda on March 18 and <br />summarized below: <br />• Allow large family care homes (daycares up to 14 children) in all <br />residential units consistent with State law. <br />• Allow child care centers in residential districts when paired with a <br />public/quasi-public use (ex. school or church). <br />• Allow standalone child care centers in residential districts with a Use <br />Permit, including conversions of residential structures. <br />• Allow child care centers in commercial and mixed-use areas for up to <br />60 children (Note: a Use Permit would be required for child care <br />centers with 61 or more children). <br />• Create parking standards for child care centers. <br />Join the Conversation <br />
